The 2nd Mountain District Car and Bike show was held on the 9th February 2008. We had 131 car entries and approximately 60 display cars which made it a total of 200 cars on show. Over 800 people plus traders and entrants enjoyed the entertainment and cars on display. Our Drive-in was attended by over 250 people. The overall result was that over $8,000.00 was raised for the building of an oval at Mountain District Christian School and Car26. Due to the overall success of the show we were also able to donate money to the Wandin CFA and the Lilydale Lions Club.
We are going to hold our 3rd community event on 7th February 2009 with cars on display, live bands, trade alley and some activities for the children. The event will be coordinated by Greg & Jacqueline Sheppard with Stephen Cornwall and Stewart Cornwall. All monies raised will be used for youth programs/projects in the shire.
Like most community events, this event will only be made possible through the dedication and support from our sponsors. An event like this is an ideal opportunity for traders and sponsors to promote and gain product recognition.
